The Department of Political Science was introduced in 1964. Sri. N.C. Kuriakose M.A. served as Professor and Head from 1964-1995. The Department started Dr. K.R. Narayanan Studies Centre with special assistance from the UGC in 2010. The department coordinates its activities also through Electoral Literacy Club by giving training and skill development programmes with assistance of the Election Commission of Kerala. The department has various research projects to its credit.
