Executive Summary

Indian banking sector has been undergoing significant reforms with the backing of information technology. The new technology, mobile banking has brought an arena in which a customer can do all his banking and financial services anywhere without having to wait at banks. Mobile banking involves the access to, and provision of, banking and finance services through mobile devices.  This service is time saving, convenient and cost effective for the customer as well as for the bank. Thus mobile banking is the usage of mobile phone as a platform for banking transactions.Mobile Banking is not only one of the most leading and successful product but it is also an essential for the growth of any developing country. This project is an attempt to analyse the attitude of customers towards mobile banking services.

The project is organized in four chapters. Chapter 1 is an introductory chapter. It involves introduction about the topic, statement of the problem, significance of the study, objectives, research methodology, tools used for collecting data and limitations of the study.

Chapter 2 contains the brief description regarding various studies which are conducted on similar topic. The theoretical background of the study was made part of this section.  This section highlight what is mobile banking- features, advantages and challenges faced by mobile banking in the present scenario.

Chapter 3 deals with objective wise data analysis- tables, charts, calculations, Likert-Scale testing etc. used to make the study more meaningful. The interpretation of each analysis is also given in this section.

Chapter 4 deals with findings, suggestions of the study.  Mobile banking created a paperless environment is one of the recent trends in electronic banking. In a country like India, there is need for providing better and customized services to the customers. Banks must be concerned about the attitudes of customers with regard to acceptance of mobile banking. The present study shows that customers are forget to logoff and misuse mobile phones and Consumers vigilant about online safety and privacy are the critical issues. Hence, banks should design the technology to address security and trust issues. According to the study the main recommendation to the banks are that they have to increase the trust and reliability.
