Mission

Our mission is to provide dynamic, student centered, comprehensive and accessible educational opportunities that address the diverse needs of the community by focusing on following areas:

 Provide quality education in the areas of Journalism, English literature and Communication.
 Develop  interpersonal and communication skills of the students to equip them for higher studies and  employment in  future. 
 Help students to discover and tap their fullest potential through appropriate co- and extra- curricular activities.
• Ensure that the goals and standards of the college’s academic programmes are achieved. 


Brief History…

The Self Financing B.A Triple main programme was sanctioned by the Mahatma Gandhi University as per U.O No. 4361 (A) /A1/2013 Acad. Dated 12.08.2013. The programme was officially started in the academic year 2014-15. The Triple main programme with an annual intake of 40 students, is titled B.A English Literature, Communication and Journalism Model Three.Rev. Fr. Kuriakose Kappliliparambil served as the first Director of the  Programme,  Mrs. Princy Sebastian was the  co-ordinator. During the first year  Mr. Benny Joseph Kocheril, who worked as a journalist in reputed media and former faculy member of Devaswom Board college, Kezoor and  Rev. Sr. Nisha K. Thomas joined the faculty. Dr. P. Augustine Mathew, Reserch guide and Associate Prof. (Rtd) Joined ad Head of the Department in 2015. Miss Megha Elizebetth Raju, Miss. Jolsy Abraham, and Miss, Anupa Rose Babu joined the faculty in 2016.  In 2017  Miss Jolsy Abraham , Sr. Nisha K. Thomas and Miss. Anupa Rose Babu joined aided college service  as faculty members. Miss Sheen George, Rev. Fr. Roshan Chacko Ennackapillil, and Mr. P. Harikrishnan, formerlly sub editor of Deepika Daily and faculty member of Mar. Augustinos College Ramapuram joined the  faculty. When the first batch of the students completed the programme in 2017 there were two A Plus. In 2018 and 2019 our students secured high grades in university level. In 2020 Six of our students secured 4 university ranks including the First Rank.The Department has completed two UGC assisted minor projects. Dr. P. Augustine Mathew, HOD has guided two PhD Dissertations. The Department publishes a house journal 'Campus Line' every semester.  The Department provides opportunity for every student to undegone On The Job Training Programme  (OJT) in repurted media firms during the sixth semester.
